online credit cards? how do they reflect on credit?

i have had a online credit card with the limit of ,500 for the past 3 years, but i just found out last month on my credit report that i had it. its in good standings, never purchased anything, so i never owed anything.

so should i use this to raise my score up(trying to fix my credit), but make sure it is paid so it won’t turn into bad credit?

another thing, i can only make purchases on their web site, as long as i get some cheap items do you think it will help my score- its at 596(approximate)

It’s not surprising that credit card is showing up on the bureaus.

Even an unused credit card helps your credit score, because it shows you have available credit that you aren’t USING. It’s when they see you’ve used up every available credit dollar that it looks bad.

It might be a good idea, though to buy some item, as long as you KNOW you can make the payments, and pay it off ASAP, so that the bureau can show it as used, "paid as agreed," then show a zero balance again. THAT is the way to repair your credit.
