The last time I checked my credit score it was 738.. But I am sure it’s much lower now because of unpaid medical bills for which i really, really don’t have money. I have exactly 100 $ in my checking. I live on my credit cards and keep the cash so I can pay the minimum due every month… This will be the case until God has some mercy and I finally get a job!!
I used to be very good with money until i lost my job and i didn’t have that much in savings and my father suddenly stopped helping me out without notice. So i began searching for a job but it’s been so long… I’ve used all my savings and now I live on my credit card which i pay the minimum due only on time because i have no cash at all.
So my question is, and since I am already like 6 months late on paying my medical bills… If I start paying those bills when i get a job would that fix my credit score ??

You just go on line and go to the big three and put in a dispute for anyone who has given you bad credit rating. It will clear up in a month.

Did those bills go to collections?
If they are not , you can just pay them little by little
Making an effort to pay prevents them from going to collections

My husband had a head injury. It took me almost 3 years to pay back, but never went to collections. I just paid a little each month and kept them happy. /

It will improve your score to pay them off but the late payments will stay on your credit for 7 years.

paying off all your bills even on time will fix your credit. But, paying the minimum on credit cards you are only digging the hole deeper. Pay off all cards, don’t use them and keep them open will help your credit and help you catch up.

Have you sought unemployment benefits? When my husband lost his job, we didn’t think he was eligible but we tried anyway and he got them! It was a tremendous help.
Also, if you have no income, you qualify for food assistance as well. I know some people are prideful, but it would be a way to help relieve the stress of affording food every month.
Have you tried talking to your dad about the situation? I’m not sure if that’s an option or not but if it is, see if he can help. If not, then I’m sorry to bring that up and that he left you out to dry unnoticed.
Those are suggestions for help, now on to the medical bills. Have you tried calling them? When my husband got laid off, I was on maternity leave and we had no income as well. I contacted the offices (this is if it’s before collections) and asked if they had a hardship program. Most did and I was eligible. They worked out payment plans for each bill and deferred my payment until I got back to work after my leave. They were really good at working with me. You’ll have to get on the phone and make the call and ask for the help.
You will get through this I know. Right now, focus on your necessities Worrying about credit can drive you crazy. I know it’s important, but your needs come first. Do what you can to keep a roof over your head, food on your table, and your place warm. Look into help and aid. Good luck to you!
