I am 21 years old and married and have a lot of debt already, I am pretty much money hungry and if I can write a bad check to a bank to buy food or something I did it and now I owe with my husbands name and mine about ,000 in debt to a couple different places.
I was thinking of filing for bankruptcy, but I honestly don’t think that’s a solution. I owe the money I should pay them back. I am not going to go the route of where you get a settlement because I want to pay them back what I do owe them plus penalties and any other fees that have occurred because of my attitude.
I am going to call everyone that I owe money too and let them know it might take me a while to start paying but even if I send in a month to each place I owe that will start paying them off. A lot of people are saying that I can send 0 a month and that’s all they will take, but really I am not going to be able to afford that right now, are they going to send me my back if its not the 0?
Thanks if you have any advice about more ideas that I can do or might help me to repair my credit I want to buy a house in about 10 years and would like good credit to do so! If you have any advice that might be more personal please email me

I have never had a company say I’m paying too little. As long as you pay something before the collection agency gets involved, they usually go along with you.
But one thing, get EVERYTHING in writing from them – a letter of response is best.
Send communications to them certified mail, return receipt.
If you don’t have a lot of money, they can’t get a lot of money.
But do something to stay out of court.
If you do get a court date, be certain to go, explain your case and hope for the best.
Good Luck, at least you want to try.
Then if all else fails, don’t feel like a failure because you file bankruptcy, just get up and always remember how you got there and vow never to get into that situation again.

Your attitude is admirable. Some places, like credit card companies, will allow you to close the account and put the account into a repayment program. This doesn’t reduce the amount owed, but can result in a lower interest rate and monthly payment.
The main key is that you MUST make at least the minimum payment on all bills, otherwise, the amounts will never go down. Even making minimum payments will take you years – decades – to get out of debt.
Make a budget of all your expenses and list your debts in terms of what the minimum payment is. If you have extra money left over, put it towards the debt with the highest interest rate and work on paying that one off first. Then repeat with the next highest, and so on.
Be sure you make your payments on time. Make them early, in fact, just so there won’t be any problems. This alone will do the most to raise your credit score.

DO NOT FILE BANKRUPTCY!
Speak to me first. There are alot of better options than BK! It should only be used as a last resort and from your brief description I believe we can help!
I emailed you from gqcredit@gmail.com. I have a few options, and I also work with a lawyer in case anyone needs representation in court.
