Help..Confused Debt settlement or Debt Relief?

I am working with US Consumer Advocate on my 76,000 debt on credit cards. Started last week to work for a settlement. For the past two days I am getting calls from a guy at Federal Debt Relief Systems fdrs.org. He promises to do a better faster job then USCA and repair my credit (yea right) and no lawsuits involve or any bad debts turn in to IRS. I am confused! Has anyone worked with any of them or have used a debt settlement co or this FDRS. I feel now that I made a mistake…but at the same time I don't. Please help me!

i've not dealt with fdrs i'm afraid however the best piece of advice i can give is to really work to understand what goes in to determining your credit score.

If you can improve your score you should be able to renegotiate some of your debts and get them onto loans with lower interest rates etc.

In my opinion the best person to fix your credit is you, no one else. If you don't do it yourself you won't feel in control of your debts. I know first hand myself that if you do it yourself step by step you'll get the most out of it. The important thing that helped me was to TAKE ACTION. I cleared my debts by simply doing something every day. Whether it was getting a credit report, researching ways to improve my score or going out washing windows to make an extra $100 I found that as long as I did something every day to make the situation better it helped no end.
