Ex wife listed me as guarantor. Collection bills went to her address. Only found out once on my report. Have spent years fixing credit, reached 705 to have it dropped to 588 for bills that never came to my house! Divorce decree states 50%. I paid 50% through collection agency three months. Found second collection last week. Collectors always respond that under Ohio law, both parents are responsible. I am not fighting this nor plan to not pay my responsibility portion. How do I protect my credit report. I never signed as guarantor. I tried disputing the first collection because I was never aware of it and lost. Even though the bills went to her address. Will changing my social help?

you need to take your divorce decree and have a sit down chat with your divorce atty. as to why this is occuring. something is missing. your ex can’t just list you as gaurantor without your consent or the court instructions. do it before it gets any worse.
